Therapeutic Tomatoes!

A fruit? A vegetable? Whatever it may be, who would have thought of the benefits of this plant! It has a variety of nutritional benefits for us, and in this article, we will discuss some of the most important tomato benefits for our skin, hair, and health. Tomatoes are high in lycopene, an antioxidant compound that has been linked to numerous health benefits. Eating tomatoes improves skin quality, texture, hydrates the body, provides vitamin C to the body, and makes our hair super soft and silky. But did you know that you can use tomatoes to make a variety of masks and packs to protect your hair from breakage, sun rays, split ends, roughness, and other hair issues?

Let’s discuss the benefits we can get using tomato rich products for our skin:

  • Reduces acne: Tomatoes are an excellent acne and pimple treatment. They contain natural salicylic acid, which aids in exfoliation and thus prevents clogged pores. Furthermore, salicylic acid aids in the restoration of the skin's pH balance, keeping it healthy and less prone to acne and other skin infections. Using a tomato may not always provide the most effective treatment for acne. However, using tomatoes to reduce pimples is an effective way to prevent the condition.
  • Removes dead skin:  Tomato is a super ingredient that helps remove dead skin gently to reveal glowing skin. When we go outside, our skin absorbs a lot of oil and dirt. This causes uneven skin, and the dirt, oil, and impurities clog the skin pores. It is not easy to get rid of this; it must be done on a regular basis. We must properly exfoliate our skin. Tomatoes contain a high concentration of enzymes, making them excellent exfoliators for removing dead skin cells.
  • Soothes skin irritation: Tomatoes contain an anti-inflammatory compound that is beneficial to irritated skin. Tomatoes contain beta carotene, vitamin C, and vitamin E, which have a soothing effect on the skin. According to one study, tomatoes have anti-inflammatory properties that aid in the relief of skin inflammation. Tomato gently soothes the irritated skin hence is suitable even for sensitive skin types.
